Welcome

Where passion meets expertise

Welcome to Animal Magic Pet Grooming, the Gold Coast’s premier destination for dog and cat grooming.

Established in Mudgeeraba in 1998 and at Broadbeach Waters since 2010, under the skilled leadership of Emily Myatt, an internationally acclaimed master groomer, our salon has become a haven for pet lovers seeking the best in breed-specific grooming and styling. Our team of qualified pet stylists is dedicated to transforming your furry friends with meticulous care, creativity, and a touch of magic.

At Animal Magic, we don’t just groom pets. We pamper them in an atmosphere of luxury and love, ensuring each visit is as enjoyable for your pet as it is for you.

Discover the exceptional care that sets us apart and treat your beloved pet to the Animal Magic experience, where every grooming session is a step towards perfect pet pampering.

Nothing is hidden

Ours is an open-style salon. A large window at the entrance means you can watch the work happening, and the grooming floor is fully air-conditioned. Equipment is commercial-grade and replaced on a schedule, because better tools mean less time on the table for your pet.

We are bound by a code of ethics under animal welfare legislation, so we will not de-matt a coat where doing so would cause real pain. When that call has to be made we explain why, and show you how to keep the coat from getting there again.

Our staff are trained to handle difficult and special-needs pets, which is why owners come to us after other salons have refused. We never use sedatives.

The Founder

Emily Myatt

Emily has been grooming for more than twenty years. She is an International Master Groomer and a qualified veterinary nurse, owns grooming salons across Australia, and is principal of one of the country’s largest grooming academies. She has shown poodles and Irish setters in conformation since 1986.

Very few salons in Australia are run by someone who competes, judges and teaches grooming internationally. At Animal Magic, the person setting the standard on the salon floor is the same person judging it on the world stage.

Competition and judging

A multi-award-winning groomer who has won across every grooming competition category.

Recently accredited as a World Judge under the IGA, and currently a grooming judge with Barkleigh in the United States. She has judged competitions in China, the USA, Malaysia, Thailand, the Netherlands and Australia.

Teaching and seminars

Over the past fifteen years Emily has presented seminars and events on grooming and dog handling around the world.

Most recently she presented at Crufts in the UK, then travelled to Northern Ireland to create educational videos for Groom Professional. She has also presented in Kunming and Chongqing in China, and in Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea and every state in Australia.

Television and press

Emily has featured across television and print, including Sunrise, the Today Show, Pooches at Play, Channel 9 News Gold Coast and Animal Extra.

In print she has appeared in Groomer to Groomer magazine, the Washington Post, and newspapers across Australia.

Beyond the salon

Emily owns grooming salons across Australia and is principal of one of the country’s largest grooming academies, training the next generation of qualified stylists.

She also holds honorary professorships at Keimyung College University in South Korea and Tajen University in Taiwan.

Meet the Team Grooming and Styling Your Pets

Grooming is unregulated in Australia, so anyone can open a salon. Every stylist here is qualified, and several compete or judge internationally.
